15.01.2024 – 10:00 – The statistical yearbook ‘Region in figures 2023’ has been published and is open for online consultation. It collects and illustrates in a single volume all the official numbers and the economic and social characteristic of Friuli Venezia Giulia, both in absolute value in relation to history and other national realities. The fifty-fourth edition of the statistical yearbook, edited by the Programming Service, strategic planning, management and statistical control of the General Directorate of the autonomus region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, is divided in 7 thematic areas and 22 chapter in which is tried to answer a fundamental question: How are they changing the economy and the society of the Friuli Venezia Giulia to the definitive exit from the pandemic and the global economic crisis, while new threats are emerging within European borders that still seem to have their roots in the history of the twentieth century?
The principal thematic areas in which is divided the publication are territory, infrastructures, economic and work, public administration, society, population and international comparisons. There are therefore many materials analysed and reported in the statistical yearbook Region in figures 2023, from demographics (the residents in Friuli Venezia Giulia are 1.194.647, with an average age of 48,3 years) to health data, with insights on life expectancy, health status of citizens, vaccination coverage and dissemination of screening tools for major diseases. Not only, the report analysed the different conformations of the various areas and of regional municipalities, the climate data and their evolution in recent years, the state and conservation of the natural environment. And again the values of energy supply and consumption, the state of agricultural and industrial productivity, the growth rate and the general economic status of the region. Not last, the yearbook Region in figures 2023 analysed also the liveliness of the cultural realities of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the interest of the population in theatre, exhibitions, shows and sport, as well as the access to media and internet. It then analysed the development of tourism and education, including the investment in technology, in start-up innovative and in research and development.
In other words, Region in figures 2023 allows a three hundred and sixty degree deepening of the anthropic and natural reality of Friuli Venezia Giulia both for the use of public and private regional professionals and decision-makers, and for curious citizens, interested in penetrating the complexity of a heterogeneous and evolving territory, but also, why not, of those wishing to target more knowledgeable investments or business plans in relation to the need of the FVG.
