27.04.2020 – 09.13 – As if the panic between February and March had not already damaged the Italian economy and the first weeks of lockdown created irreparable fractures in the regional economy, the decision of the Conte government to shift to 18th May and 1st June the reopening of the overwhelming majority of activities has caused further panic in a world of small businesses and traders which are now facing serious difficulties.
The Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, criticized the new Decree of the Government, as a guest last night on the TV show “Live – Non è la D’Urso” on Canale 5.
Fedriga said he was “Extremely concerned. I’m in touch with all our professional associations. In June there will be no more activities. The strategy, as we tried to do here, was to close everything and immediately, but then reopen safely.
There are virtuous entrepreneurs who have organized themselves: either we give them a breather or we kill the country. If we don’t let them work, they won’t come back and will leave people at home”.
“In my region there is already the obligation to wear a surgical mask.
We must combine health and economy. I don’t know if the economic drama is clear.
The technical-scientific committees are great and they are very good, but they don’t know what’s going on in the real country: that’s up to politics, otherwise what it’s for? We need to give a perspective and have confidence in citizens and businesses. You can’t hold half-hour conferences at 8.30 pm on Sunday and create panic in the country”.
