17.04.2021 – 08.50 – On the sidelines of the meeting that took place yesterday, Thursday 15th April, in the Warehouse 26 of Porto Vecchio, the Mayor Roberto Dipiazza revealed which architect will be responsible for the project guidelines for the restoration of Porto Vecchio, with specific reference to the realization of its green areas. It is the German architect and landscape designer Andreas Kipar, known for his work in the Milan and Dubai Expos. Many of his projects appear to focus on slow mobility and environmental sustainability.
The title of landscape designer fits perfectly with the needs of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s Superintendency. It will be up to Kipar to outline the realization of the linear park of industrial archaeology along the banks of the Porto Vecchio and the monumental green avenue that will connect the port area with the city center. Finally, it will be up to the German architect to decide how and how much to intervene on the fragile structure of the Hapsburg warehouses, which are subject to restrictions. Kipar’s choice seems to be a “green” one and as such significant because it fulfills the environmental requirements requested by the European Union to agree to the necessary funds. All that remains now is to wait for the formalization of the appointment.
