01.03.2021 – 08.00 – Another important step was made for the redevelopment of Porto Vecchio with today’s approval by the Regional Council of the outline of the Programme Agreement, in which the Municipality of Trieste and the Port Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea are among the contracting parties.
To this end, the constitution of Ursus – Urban Sustainable System – the consortium for the enhancement of the area, has been authorised.
Specifically, the Agreement entails the adoption of the urban planning variant for the decommissioned area of Porto Vecchio, to make private investments aimed at urban regeneration possible, and identifying the assets that remain propriety of the authority and those that will be subject to redevelopment by the Municipality of Trieste and whose proceeds will be transferred to the Port Authority to be invested in the development of the new port, according to the provisions of the law.
This measure was requested by President Massimiliano Fedriga himself and adopted today by the regional executive on the joint proposal of the councillors for Infrastructure and Territory Graziano Pizzimenti and for Property and State Property Sebastiano Callari, whose respective directorates will be responsible for taking the necessary steps to implement the agreement.
“Today’s act of the Council, said the President, lays the foundations for the relaunch of an area that is an integral part of our long-term plan for major works as it is of absolute strategic value for the economy of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
