Giacomelli (Fratelli D’Italia) and Confetra: for the port of Trieste, it is essential to become a free-trade zone

02.07.2020 – 11.50 – Today, Claudio Giacomelli, the leader of Fratelli d’Italia at the Regional Council of Friuli Venezia Giulia, met with Stefano Visintin and Walter Gregori, respectively president and secretary of Confetra Friuli Venezia Giulia, the association that represents the business categories operating in the regional transport, shipping and logistics sectors at political, economic, social and trade union level.
During the meeting, numerous topics related to entrepreneurial and professional activities in the regional logistics sector were addressed, and in particular the issues concerning the municipal taxation on real estate located in the free points of the port of Trieste, the need to overcome the penalizing calculation of maritime taxes and duties in the International Free Port of Trieste, and finally the activation of the necessary procedures at a political level for the recognition of the free-trade status of the Port of Trieste, an essential element in order to take full advantage of the international free port regime and finally bring back industrial processes with important employment implications within the national borders.

Moreover, the representatives of Confetra FVG and Claudio Giacomelli, welcomed with satisfaction the news of the victory at the Regional Administrative Court of President D’Agostino, who can finally operate again as a protagonist for the good of the port and the whole Region.
