03/11/2020 – 09.16 – Following the economic crisis that will grip Europe and the United States after Covid-19, Andrea Illy proposed to draw up a “Strategic Plan for Italy” to be implemented through “a public-private partnership between Confindustria and the Government, which appoints a team of 5/7 economists and coordinates a coalition including World Economic Forum, Bank of Italy, Confcommercio, ABI, ANCI, State-Regions Conference and all other intermediate bodies”.
Andrea Illy launched the idea with a letter sent to the President of Confindustria Vincenzo Boccia and to the Committee nominating the new Confederal presidency.
It is not a precise program, but a “contribution of ideas” offered by Illy, who recalled how it is “facing an extraordinary contingency, but also finally attacking the structural reasons for the Italian decline“.
The situation, in other words, was not positive even before the epidemic crisis; but now, according to Illy, “these serious times require cohesion”.
